The problem with the SOS mode is long pauses of darkness. But it might be better than the hyber-blink. I've used that for a few days, and I'm growing concerned about what it is like on the receiving end.
I wouldn't want a driver to go into a brain seizure and take out a mailbox ... or me.
Or you could look at a clock...
