Reverse Cold Setting

Hi,

I scored some awesome parts that were tossed in the dumpster behind my LBC:
A mid-90s Trek Mountain Track frame (my second) and an Shimano 3S hub laced to some tacoed steel rim.

The frame is a touch rusty, but fine, and the hub works okay as well. My original intent was to use the two together, but the Trek has 130mm width while the hub is 114mm. I've read about cold setting, where one can press apart dropouts to fit WIDER hubs, but I've never heard of anyone making the dropouts closer together. Is it roughly the same process? Has anyone done this before? I'm willing to take chances because, after all, I didn't pay a dime for the frame.

thanks!
