I remember seeing a helicopter one time, that had this blade thingy up along the front dome, with a vee-shaped cutter at top. Idea being, I suppose, that if you ran into a wire, you had some hope of coming out of it in once piece. Maybe something like that would work on a recumbent, where you could just race through the pack, cutting a few dogs loose.
