Sorry amigo, that was not my intent at all!
I have no interest in telling people what to do, and mandating eyewear seems absurd to me (which is why I thought the 'safety nanny' reference was humorous). I am interested if there is any ongoing debate about the use of eye protection while cycling. I guess I chose the wrong emoticon.
Really, I am curious as to how common this type of injury is, if any other riders have had similar experiences, and if this topic has been addressed before.
