What do you lube with after you wash off your MTB of all the mud and grime?

I've been negligent of properly upkeeping my Specialized Rockhopper. After I get it really dirty I typically spray it down with the hose and put her away in the garage. This past weekend with all the snow melt and rain last week, I came home particularly muddy. After my typical spraying down with the hose I really looked over my components. No rust or anything, but they look like they "need" something. I'm thinking lubrication, but the chain is still pretty dirty. Actually I was thinking of hitting up the chain with a degreaser and then lubing it up again, but am not sure.

What do you use to degrease and lube on your MTB? What shouldn't I touch with the degreaser and lube?

Thanks for the help.
