A local Les Schwab Tire Center takes my old bicycle tires, especially after I tell them our team rebuilds bikes for needy kids. I think the key is not to take too many in at a time. Most auto tire places I've approached are warm to the idea of recycling bicycle tires, and they usually act like nobody has ever asked them before. Motorcycle shop might be a good alternative too. Maybe this is an idea whose time has come...
