Cannondale shifting work away from Bedford facility
Monday, April 06, 2009
The Cannondale bicycle company is phasing out production at its factory in Bedford. The number of Bedford employees will shrink from 300 to 100 by late 2010, as production is shifted to a new facility in Taiwan, according to Dorel Industries, parent company of Cannondale as well as the Schwinn, GT, Mongoose and Sugoi brands.

The Bedford facility, which has been Cannondale's domestic bicycle manufacturing hub since 1983, will be used primarily for bicycle testing and quality control, final assembly, warranty repair and customer support, including a new call center.

Dorel is a Montreal-based publicly traded company that acquired Cannondale last year.
