That is a nice deal on a new frame fork combo.

But if you are real thrifty, I continue to find complete vintage touring bikes in that price range. I picked up this Miyata Tuesday. Bike is spotless, could use a new set of tires (due to aging, not wear) and a new seat. Cost me $165. This bike came off of ebay, so it was not some secret, back of the barn deal.
