Hi from Maryland

I'm new to biking. I used to ride nonstop as a kid and teenager, but until recently it had been years since I had been on a bike. I have never been serious about riding or taking care of my bike before. My goal is to ride primarily for fun and fitness, but I'd like to work up to being able to do longer rides and club rides, maybe 25-30 miles at a time, and see where I go from there! I also might like to try bicycle commuting (it's ten miles each way to my office, but no bike racks or showers, so there are challenges there) and running local errands. (Unfortunately, my area of the state is very suburban--no bike lanes, no shoulders.)

I'm looking forward to "meeting" everyone in the forums and exchanging (well, to be honest, receiving, at least for now) helpful biking tips.
