Well, whaddya know? I called Nashbar and they DO have the 1" -- it's just not showing up on their site. With a 20% off coupon (SAVEBIG) good through the 28th, I got it for just under $130, shipping included.

most of the forks are either low end, or high end ($350+). the winwood seems to fill a void. i have researched it to put it on my new bike, and haven't found any reviews of them breaking. a few reviews reporting some shudder, but its reported on even the best forks. i don't think you could go wrong with it.
