Not everyone honking at cyclists are rude or are razzing.....several years ago, a workmate and I were riding around in Anchorage, Alaska just taking in the sights before catching the train to Fairbanks and the start of our ride back home in Vancouver B.C. Canada. We were continually honked at, hollered at, and waved at, which made us very nervous, as we were in a foreign country. It was raining, so we were wearing jackets donated by the Teamsters Union. These rain jackets had a big emblem on the back. Finally, at the train station, we were greeted by about 100 fellow Teamsters attending a convention from all across America, they were just saying hi, not posing a threat at all! You never know.
Maybe not both of them; but I'm pretty sure the one displaying the one finger salute was not just saying hi.
