changing pedals takes maybe a minute per pedal. I can't imagine that inserting those platforms would be that much quicker and then your platform side will always be top heavy rotating down. I personally switch between spd and toe clip several times a week on my commuter. I was told to throw those things out, one of the shop mechanics knew a customer that unclipped one while ridding but those were the freebie ones that come with the pedal. You might want to try the commuting section.
