I just went to the doctor too. My first physical in 5 years. My bad cholesterol is 188, bp 130/70, glucose is 105. I'm pretty active and food is my weakness. I eat small portions of the food I like. I tried the other extreme and I was hungry all the time. So I decided that this isn't working and just eat smaller portions. I do eat a lot of fruit and vegetables I guess as we get older our matabolism just slows enough to punish us. That is why being more active as we get older is needed.
I'm with you if I was to get to my BMI I would be a tall stick too. Right now I weigh 265 and I'm over 6'2". I would like to get down to 245. My doctor says I should be down 30-40lbs from my present weight. I'm just a big guy. I don't look fat I'm just big. I know if I were to loose 20lbs those hills would be a lot easier.
I was able to get term life insurance. If I was just the hint of unhealthy I know I wouldn't have got it so easily.
