A quiet contender for the "red jersey" is now Belirusian Yauheni Hutarovich (Française des Jeux), who has strung together several poor days without ever being really, really bad to sit in 174th. I've noted that consitantly finishing well back while consistantly staying comfortably ahead of daily time limits really pays off over the three-week long Tour. Keep your eye on Hutarovich!

I saw that earlier when at one point he did have the LR "jersey" on his back. But watch out for Andreas Klier of Cervelo Test Team, as he's only a fraction of a second "faster" than Hutarovich. This is shaping up to be a good battle. Friday's stage should shake things up a lot. I don't think the extent of the climbing will be enough to eliminate anyone on time, but who can say at this point?
