Bike Gallery, a big LBS chain around here, recently began selling a fixie branded under their own name based on the SE Draft Lite. I don't know if that means that BG is making official the fact that it's becoming Performance Bike or if it's a commentary on the decency of the frame. If you're interested, here is their "review" of their bike: http://www.bikegallery.com/blog/2009...orkhorse-bike/

The SE Draft used to come with the oversized one-piece bottom bracket, which in my mind eliminated it from serious consideration for anything but a cheap beater bike, but it looks like they've now switched to a standard BB. So now it can be a cheap beater bike that you can hang nicer parts on if you want to.

That said, I've got an old Gitane with a hi-ten frame that I converted. It came in around 23 pounds, and it's a lot of fun to ride. It will never make me the envy of my friends and neighbors, but I like it and it doesn't feel like a tank.
