I wouldn't even worry about the weight difference (if there *really* is one). You're probably going to put on super baddazzz skidding tires anyway that will weigh about eleventy billion pounds each.

And like any wheel: if you don't build it yourself or have it hand built, ride it to let the spokes settle in, then true it up or have someone do it for you. For my money, wheel strength / durability is in the build more than the materials --- at least at this level of equipment.

So just get the Weinmanns and spend the savings on beer. Your liver will thank you.
