I loooked at them both, but decided on the Specialized Sequoia because of the handlebars. I also looked at the Cannondale Synapse.

I started out with an old road bike, and put a flat bar on it to see if it was any better. I wound up that deciding road bars were better. Bar ends were too far out for me.

You really only have one position with a flat bar, you have 2 or 3 with road bars, and for me, moving the arms around help keep my left shoulder from going numb (an old injury),
