post surgical blues...

Last year right knee cleaned/repaired. This summer surgery #3 on right shoulder. Needless to say without working all these past months and total lack of doing anyhting physical the weight hath arrived! 45lbs or so extra.
Well I have an old Trex Mt. Track 850xl. Been riding it alot (primary mode of transportation and recreation) LOVE IT. Since my average weight is 250-260lbs (still 30-40lbs overweight here) and I'm currently hovering at 290 (I'm 6' 6") Iam looking at road bikes. Found Trek 2.3 64CM... want but just out of $$$ reach at this point...
.
Once I get medically cleared my weight will go back to normal after a while.
.
Question is this... at my current stature do I need be concerned about extra stresses on equipment? Or buy TREK 2.3 anyhow and get to normal weight ASAP (target 205-215).
.
Also is there anything I need to be aware of as far as being a 'clydesdale' as far as frame/wheels etc etc...

.
.
thanks in advance
