Large parts of the last 2 years of the Tour of California were ruined by bad weather. The weather is much better in California in May. No rain along the coast and some of the Sierra Nevada will be clear of snow.
the flip side is the ATOC was popular because it was an early season race. next year it will be in the thick of the season when the big guys are seriously training for the TDF.
it was fun while it lasted!
