all the Clyde post seem to point towards steel steel steel... and I know some of the newer steels are freekin sweet!!!... (saw a thing the other day like 80% of the steel used to make todays cars didn't exist like 10 years ago....)

oh one other thing with MTBs... how much room for the boys should i have when standing over??? i rode a 2010 Hardrock 29er the other day it was a 21" and seemed just about right... but it comes in 23"...
Personally, I'd spend the money on the fork instead. Also, that LX component kit on Jenson is customizable, so you can add in nicer brakes or whatever before you order. However, I think you're right that a fully rigid 29er with the best brakes, tires and drivetrain would be pretty awesome. I love shopping on the internet with other people's money...
