old new guy from Chicago

Hi I'm Rick N, from the North side of Chicago. Just started riding "for real" again, I've rode to the lake,up and down, maybe 10-15 mile on a hibryd One day I boke out my old road bike, a Raleigh Comp, from '77cleaned and greased, got some Shimano pedals, and specialized shoes and started riding the North shore path
I been riding a bike on and off for over 40 years. When I was about 16-17 I wanted to race...well easier said than done when you built like a brick, and raised in a home that Lucky and Pall Mall filled the air 24/7, so I could never sprint, but I could do distance, so I did..then as I got older got into other things

I made my mind up I'm gonna start getting my distance back, I started riding for distance again...and I finally did it..75 miles!!! Kicked my Butt...but I feel great now.

My goal is to do a century in Sept...I feel good I can do it

I'm gonna keep riding my old bike

Well I hope to make some new 2 wheeled friends, so if you see a short old guy with all the aerodynamics of a brick on a silver Raliegh

Thanks
Rick
