Speaking for us lazy folks, probably not worth that much effort since the zip tie won't move once you've hit max amount of travel. Still, good way to pimp out the self applied travel indicating apparatus (made that up on the fly).
BTW...every steed in my stable has one of these on it. Lets me know when I'm bottoming out on crazy jumps and mad drops.
