I HATE Mavic Op's. The have little eyelets that constantly pop out. A weld bead inside the rim that breaks loose and makes a constant "ticking" sound. Drives me crazy as I like a smooth running bike. I had handbuilt OP's tha didn't last over 2000 miles. Actually SPLIT on the braking surface!
Some swear by them but I HATE them!
If I use Mavic, I'd go for for the Mavic CXP33. These are just about everywhere on the net and in the shops. I built a front wheel for my other bike, 32 spoke with butted spokes. Nice and stiff and sans that annoying tick of the OP's.
My Cannondale, Velocity Deep V in the back and a Mavic CXP up front. Both 32 wheels.
