Sorry I just realised the service is 'by invite only' for some regions which probably explains why it didn't exist for some of you.
Oh on the subject of useful sites, I also found a great mapping tool for UK rides called
www.bikehike.co.uk. You can make you route on ordinance survey and it will tell you all the elevation changes etc..
