Average weight based on what? Sheer number of bikes out there? Lots of ways to look at it.

Let me see. My hardtail weighs 27lbs. and my full suspension bike weighs 27 lbs.. That makes the avg. wt. of my MTBs 27lbs..

Seriously, if you only were to include actually dirt-worthy bikes, all could really say is that most of them weigh anywhere from 25#-35#.

Whatever. Who really cares that much?
