What crank came on your Santa Cruz? That kit only has tools for some ISIS, Octalink and square taper cranksets. If you have an external bearing crank, you will not get the tools for removing the bottom bracket cups or adjusting the preload (applicable on some Shimano cranks).

With that said, the bottom bracket tools that come with sets like that typically suck. They have no provision for using the tool with a torque wrench. Even if the set came with external bearing tools, I'd still recommend the Park Tool external bearing socket tool which accepts a 3/8" square drive.
