Not a real mountain biker although I spend quite a lot of time rambling about the critter trails and two tracks here in the Wyoming Rockies. Mostly off road transit through the natural world for photography, kayaking, and wildlife observation.

Used to use toe straps and never quite got along with them. Recently purchased a pair of Power Grips and their sealed bearing pedals for my FX.

Love 'em! Definite power improvement and ingess/egress is easily accomplished. Fiddly to install and get adjusted but once done all is well. I can adjust the strap size/tension for whatever footwear I need for a particular trip as well as the changing seasons.

I've no interest whatsoever in being clipped in for my style of cycling and the Power Grips have proved a valuable asset in my reality.

Hope this helps and good luck to you.
