I think you should stick with the calorie counting and riding the bike outside when the weather is nice and getting rollers so you can use the bike to train and exercise when the weather is bad or it is too cold out. I plan on getting rollers in the near future. I am also down 2 pounds since friday and I have been counting calories and riding bike and playing tennis.
