Sounds like a good price, I'd go for it. I just got a new cross check modified from stock (panaracer t-serv tires, jaand expedition rack, added a third chain ring) and the ride feels so great. If it really looks new it's a steal, and you're right -- used cross checks don't come up often -- I was stalking bostons craigslist for about 3 months waiting for one to come up in my size and it never happened.
