The suggestion I've seen is "large" is for men, "small" is for women. I have GP1 and GR2, both "large" and they are fine for my average size man-hands. I've only had the GR2's for about a month, with magnesium bar ends that I don't know how I ever did without on a flat-bar handlebar.
