SCX-5 canti brake pad clearance for swapping wheels

I have Cane Creek SCX-5 cantis on my cross bike. The problem is that when swapping wheels, the tail end of the brake pads hit the seat stays and fork, not opening wide enough to allow clearance for my tires to squeeze out when fully inflated. So I have to deflate the tire just to get them out. Then re-inflate them once they're back in.

This would be ridiculous if I ever decided to bring my spare set as pit wheels to a race. Obviously, pit wheels are common, so some of you must've figured this out.

These pads are the stock pads that came with the SCX-5. Are there non-offset pads where the bolt is centered on the pad? Or are there compatible shorter block pads that'll fit these calipers?

If it makes a difference, this is on my Slingshot DDX running 700x32 WTB Cross Wolf tires on Mavic Open Pros. But I don't think this problem is unique to this frame/fork.

Thanks for you help.
