Not so newby

I rode in the 80s, hung the bike up in the 90s, and now my son is going to drag me back out onto the road.
I have a Lotus Legend that I build with Shimano 600 components - complete with Biopace rings up front. Son pulled it down, cleaned it up, tuned it up, and got into riding. He decided he wanted his own bike so he bought a Cannondale CAD9 (I think it is). My Lotus was considered reasonably light in 1987, but weighs practically 3 times what son's C'dale weighs. I'm OK with that as I find I prefer the ride of steel over aluminum & carbon fiber. If I lived in the mountains I might feel differently. A lot has changed since I hung up my bike. I have a bit of catching up to do.
