You need the "SID " adapter most likely. I believe it depends on what year the fork is, but the older ones...2000 back use an adapter. Most any shop should have them, or be able to get them and the cost in very minimal. (around 2 bucks) I have 2 SID's and both of mine use the adapter. I have a FOX pump also so I don;t believe that is your problem.
