I had this same problem a while back. For my winter riding I wanted a cartridge. For anything reasonably priced, the Shimano was the way to go. Definitely heavy, as it feels like a frickin brick in your hand, but also seems pretty indestructable. I've used them twice, and although I think there are better bb's out there, for the price and depending on your function you can't really beat it.
