Creaky-weakey bb.

About 6 months ago I fitted a new top-of-the-range Shimano bb and a new XTR front mech to my Gemini. Being winter time UK, I've only used the bike mostly for few minute commutes to work and back. About a month ago, I started getting a distinctive creak from the bb area when pedalling only. I'm ready to strip it all down again if necessary and refit and retighten. Does this creak sound normal for a bb/mech rebuild as I suppose over time that parts will settle in and I might have to tighten up again to compensate?

If there's a quick fix that'll be appreciated but if you reckon it's better I go back to the beginning I'll go with that.
