Howdy from East Dundee, IL

Actually, I'm sitting in a hotel room in SLC, but I live in E. Dundee, IL, a far NW Chicago burb. When I'm not traveling for work, hence being in Salt Lake, I bike the 11.6 mi round trip to my shop year round. I have a dozen or so bikes, that run the gamut from fixed gear, multispeed fixed gear; 3, 5, 7, and 8 speed gear hubs, hybrid geared, and a couple of Miyatas with derailluers hanging off of them. Most have fenders and all have a leather saddle.

I've been riding for nearly 50 years, was an Effective Cycling Instructor with the old League of American Wheelmen, am a Life member of the League of American Bicyclists. I rode in most of the old Wis/Ill 24hr time trial series in the eighties and rode in PBP in 1991. I am a fan of pre bike boom Brit bikes and Sturmey Archer hubs and have converted many SA AW 3 speed hubs to 2 speed fixed gear hubs and setup Dynohubs to run LEDs.

I'm a tinkerer, a futzer, retrogrouch, and a grandpa.

Cheers
