Left-hand rear derailleur shifting with brifter?
I have minimal fine motor control in my right side, and was told that the right-hand brifter must control the rear derailleur on a bike I'm looking at (with Shimano 105). Has anyone with a one-side disability found a way around this?

Well, the right hand brifter controls the rear derailer (different mechanicals in the right and left), you could possibly mount the right hand brifter on the left side, I don't think that there is a reason that it can't attach. The real question is if you can operate a right hand brifter with your left hand. I don't have a bike with brifters so I can't try it out.
You also might want to look into trying something like a barend mounted shifter - it makes no difference which side of the handlebar it gets mounted to.

Also, there are products that mount a standard lever shifter on a brake such as these that might be useful:Shifters | Product Categories | Gevenalle
