Need help choosing a bike, please!

Hello everyone I tried my luck on another form and didn't get a response. I'm 340 pounds and 6 feet. I'm a student at a university in California, and the terrain is completely flat. I was wondering if any of you know any reliable bikes for my weight and the type of riding i'll be doing. I'm a novice at this and was looking at these two bikes, any suggestions on why these might not work?

This forum is for handicapped riders.

What is you handicap?

Go to your nearest local bike shop and try a few mountain bikes without suspension.

You'll find that the suspension absorbs much of your pedaling energy. A good mountain bike will support more weight and the wider tires will be more forgiving on roads that are uneven.

One word of advice - you'll probably have to adjust your budget closer to the $500 - $600 range. Good luck!

Thanks for the response! I'm not sure where to post this question actually. Any advice?

Although in my book you are welcome on this forum any time, it tends to be pretty lightly traveled. Just below is a forum called Clydesdales/Athenas that caters to larger riders. You may want to try there if you have not already.
