My sister is 16 (as am I), and she used to have this bike which she loved. It was a small recumbent built especially for kids with special needs. Sadly, she outgrew it and has not been able to bike in a while. Recently she expressed an interest in maybe biking again. There are a few possible issues.

First, she has left hemiparesis, so she cannot control her left side very well (her left arm is usually cramped and she has limited motion in it, and she can move her left leg in a bike motion.) This could pose a problem for steering. This is also an issue for balance, so a three wheeled bike would be necessary and a must.

Second, she is also mentally handicapped, so she would not likely be able to simply go out on her own to bike.

Finally her field of vision is cut off in the lower area and a bit in the sides, although it is much better than it used to be, so watching the road for obstacles or other people could be a difficulty.

My family has been looking into recumbent type or sitting three wheel bikes and two person recumbent bikes for her, but I am on this forum quite frequently and since I saw this sub-forum I thought "why not," and wanted to see if anyone has any opinion or idea of a bike to look into.

Here is a Greenspeed (Australian company) Tandem Tadpole Recumbent Tricycle. There are also US manufacturers of such things (maybe Catrike?). It isn't cheap, but it could be a boon to your sister.

If you had 2 delta trikes they could be configured as a train.

A tadpole front and delta rear would work too , just fabricate a fork to be used in back . to go over the rear wheel ..
