I'm pretty sure they're illegal here in the city, can't say as i don't see about a dozen of them out every time the sun shines though...

These things are ********, in fact, calling them ******** does a mentally handicapped person an injustice.
I don't know how many times I've almost hit one of these people zipping across the road in the middle of the darkness.... never understood the fascination with them.

Agreed... somebody thought they could slip something through the loopholes... they are built like crap and have no place on the road.

Pocket bikes seem to be a ghetto must-have item. Dangerous, loud and obnoxious children of satan ride them late into the night over here.

On a positive note, they don't seem to last very long-- probably because their owners don't grasp the concept of maintenance.

How is the law written? What does it mean for my 25cc moped? I understand and share the frustration with the pocket bikes but the verbiage might not be specific enough.

I saw two kids on one of these things... One was a smaller kid on the back of a bigger kid. Talk about crazy! I have no respect for them. I even saw a father and son riding them on a bike trail... HELLO! No Motorized Vehicles! I think it just follows all the other ways society is going. Everyone wants to go fast but doesn't think about the fact that they are putting themselves and others in danger... Oh well at least they still allow us non-motorized vehicles access to the roads! Those who are smart enough to use them

Keep Cycling,

Here they are sold as off road vehicles... but that does not stop them from being used on neighborhood streets.

There were some clowns with one or two of those here, they'd ride up and down the tiny street here, from the squealing brakes and sudden stops of the pocketbike engine, I think they nearly got run over really often. This is a really suck-o neighborhood with all kinds of gonzo ppl driving in and out of the 7-11 and the liquor store way too fast.

There's a couple of kids in our neighbourhood who fart around the streets on one of those stupid things. Just what those kids need I suppose, nevermind the fact that its loud and burns more fuel. But another "toy" that they don't need to apply any physical effort to operate. Might as well, sit in front of the X-Box all day. Oh and they are not street legal in T.O. Canada.

We've already had a fatality in our city. (It was an adult.)

I saw an article in one of the New York papers that said it'll cost about $2,000 to get caught in NYC. It's a combination of about a dozen fines.

Cars can't see them until it's too late.
