Quick and easy way to fill kerb?

Hello

If I wanted to fill that kerb and avoid stopping my bike… what kind of material should I use?

Ideally, something that I could make with just a trowel and bit of cold water.

Thank you.

You are asking for an accomplice to commit a crime? Is that your easement?

I'd use Quikcrete.

You can use a few blocks of wood or a sandbag filled with gravel. That's what the landscapers do around here for their riding mowers.

If you get popped using more permanent measures I would not be suprised with arrest/summons.

Might want to call City Services and see if they will do it. Otherwise use sacrete, but best check with the city about the legality of that - If Trance is anything like the US then not only is it illegal, if someone injures their self you would be liable to pay for their damages.

Not that I have ever done it, but put a piece of PVC pipe along the curb so water can still flow. Then put the slope in with cold crete asphalt, then pack with rubber mallet.

In my experience with such "small" jobs, I always need a lot more material than I anticipated.

I'd just talk to your city, at minimum to get permission.

Is that a driving area or parking area?

As CB HI mentioned, you may have to be concerned about water flow in the gutters.

Ideally you would get a curb-cut rather than a curb-fill.

I saw an area where a road crew was needing to repeatedly drive up a curb like that. I'm going to describe this from what it appeared was going on. I showed up near the end of it.
It looked like they dropped a bag of Quick-crete at the curb -- still in the bag. Then hosed it down. While it was still wet, they drove their trucks over it. The bag tore, but the concrete had already formed a little ramp.

If it's actually a hazard, report it to the city. Once it's reported, they are liable if it causes an accident or damage.

That looks intentionally designed to keep motorists out in the event they think it's a motor vehicle turn.

Just dump a bag of clay-filled dirt there and use it a lot to pack it in.

Are you in the US or Paris, FR?

Generally, do not go rogue by doing road/sidewalk improvements yourself. Contact your local transportation authority about the issue. If you are caught in the US, the liability is on you! This would be paying for "fixing" it back to original specifications at government contractor cost.

Or if you are not caught and a city planner/inspector notices the issue is not to specifications, the area will be returned back to its original design at taxpayer cost.

Road stuff sucks and is expensive. Finding out who is responsible or owns it can be a pain.

Only if a lawyer finds the letter, memo, or record of the conversation.

If a ramp enters a traffic lane or place a bike rides perpendicular to it, the result could be very treacherous.

Send it registered, keep a copy yourself. At least YOU are covered, and if you hear about anyone getting injured there, you can provide them with a copy.

Lead pipe; break someone's legs and have them complain about the wheelchair obstacle.

Make a wedge out of a big hunk of wood... use as your ramp... it isn't permanent, but "good enough."

You only need it wide enough for your bike tires, but not wide enough for a car to use.

Sure, but put a chunk of PVC Pipe under it to allow for drainage.

Would that not float away in a heavy rain?

Have to be a really heavy rain or big flow right there. Most likely the flow in that curb isn't but a couple of inches.
