Popped by a car///

...headed west when a driver of a car headed east made a left turn into a parking lot & popped me broadside. Said she didn't see....Hi Vis helmet, shirt & handlebar tape with Bontrager daytime lights flashing front & rear.... I'm ok, getting away with multiple contusions at worst...not a scratch on my helmet... Fork sheared off tube (carbon fiber)... Witness said I was three feet above roof of car at highest point.... I think I won a "lottery" of some type... Thinking everyday is now a good day... Oh, the bike shop let me know that other than a few scratches, the bike only needs a new front fork, frame not bent at all..

Make sure she covers a repaint job (with money for a rental bike while yours is being painted) as well as a new helmet.

Insurance pays what it covers, she's not paying, they are.

CRVs have become to women what Buicks are to men. Gotta watch them a little more closely. Glad you are OK.

Insurance, if she has it, covers what she is liable for. You make it sound like insurance is free, she has payed and may pay even more each month.

That's how it works. They do pay, whatever they deem appropriate under the term of her coverage.

There is nothing to interpolate.

Insert full size SUVs and trucks here and my mom drives a Century. She used to have a Silverado. Her back made her switch (dad dying of cancer as well).

Glad you are relatively OK. Nothing like getting clobbered "hit-man style" where there is just nothing you can do or could have done any better. Sounds like you were doing your part to be visible and aware. I too believe you used up all of your "lottery luck" for some time. In other words...don't bother playing the lottery until your luck supply recovers.
