Bike Lane Bill in MN

A proposed bill requiring you to get a permit to ride in the bike lane. I guess I'll just ride in the traffic lane.

Definitely odd.

Looks like he could benefit from a bit of riding. Scary pic.

So who is going to pay for this? A fee mentioned certianly will not.

It doesn't really make sense. One wonders if he presumes that bicycles only ride in bike lanes.

Really, though, what is it with lawmakers and their hatred of bicycles? We see these stupid proposed laws a lot.

I wonder if the legislators think these up on their own, or if they're currying favor with some anti-bike drivers in their district. A lot of bills are written by lobbyists or interest groups.

It's typical politics in Minnesota. Out-state Minnesota (they hate being called out-state) resentment of the cultural and economic domination by the Twin Cities with some Democratic v. Republican politics thrown in to muddy the water.
