I generally try to show them the same consideration I'd hope for myself.

MUP, mixed group of seven cyclists blasting down the path about four people wide. My wife and I saw them coming and stopped along the edge on our side. As I expected, they plowed through a group of ducks ahead of us with no regard for them at all. How none were hit, I can't say.
