Don died at his home in Jacksonville, Oregon on Thursday at the age of 81. That I was able to safely take a 25 mile ride today on a busy, four lane state highway (US30) was a result of his efforts as a state legislator in 1971. Anyone who rides in Oregon owes him a huge debt. Here's a link to the story in THE OREGONIAN.
