Red line running

Red LIGHT running (can't edit thread title)

So I'm waiting at a red light yesterday waiting for the light to turn. There is a cyclist travelling in the opposite direction, towards me, correctly positioned in his lane, wearing a helmet, with a trailer. In the trailer are 2 young children with helmets. He then proceeds to blow the red light and force 2 vehicles who have the green to brake. I came 'this close' to calling him a bad father.

Id say thats pretty damn dumb. The guy not you lol Though it may have been dumb to not say any thing to him.

In the end though its not your responsability to educate a putz like this. Chances are he was already up to speed meaning youd have to work your rear off to catch up to him maybe not even beaing able to in the end.

Now id personaly make a mental note of what kind of bike he had colors etc and if he had a team/club jersey etc and maybe catch him out one day and let him know just how stupid a move it was to run the light esp with kids in a trailer.

Not to mention a poor example to the next generation of cyclists.

Not to mention a poor example to the next generation of cyclists. Could have killed them; and he taught them that this was the right thing to do all in one action.

Were they belted into the trailer and wearing helmets?

Normally, I would say that Darwinism is good in that people that are stupid won't pass on their genes, but in this case, when they already have offspring, its not fair for the stupid person to take his offspring with him.

Call 'em as you see 'em.

Don't have much sympathy for red runners right now.
This past weekend I almost got T boned when another cyclist ran a red as I was riding thru on the green.

I say the guy needs to have his kids taken away if hes going to be that reckless with their lives. If he rides a bike like that, I cant even imagine how he must drive.

Maybe were too hard on him though. I know, while driving, I've spaced out on dead roads and ran red lights before. Could of been a mistake, but still very stupid. I hope his guilt plagued him horribly over it by putting his kids in danger.
