In the tradition of HH polls...

In the fine tradition of HH's polls to validate his threads...

Who won the 'Forester takes on BF' main event thread?

After reading all the posts I have to go with BF in a sweep. Totally unimpressed with JF and the minions.
Can I have pie too?

In content and logical argument - The few, the proud, the BF crowd.

If the the A & S Forum gets shut down due to the smokescreen of bogus complaining and whining - the Forester minions.

Chipcom and ILTB for president! Pie for everyone. Can I get an honorary piece of pie for my small roll in debunking that quack? I like cherry. You can give a bite of apple pie to the severed head on the back of my trike.

I read as much of the great Forrester smackdown as I could. In previous posts I've expressed disapointment at the disrespect that Forrester has gotten. In this thread I was disappointed that Forrester was fairly crafty at taking posts out of context, or deliberately misinterpreting some or all of a post. I think he would do better simply to state his case. I don't think he did himself a service by posting on BF.

On the other hand, after reading it all I'm still left wondering about the resolution, if any. In my area, there is no great effort to put bike facilities in place. The (locally famous) Minute Man Bikeway is not plowed, so it is not usable for three or four months a year. If the government had some extra cash, my personal belief is that seasoned commuters, and even new cyclists would be best served by spending that money on fixing cracks, potholes, and generally cleaning up the shoulder of the road. The facilities that some facilities advocates are advocating for are more in the nature of linear parks. They're nice for recreation, good for new cyclists, useful if they go where you want to go, but never seem to get you the last mile. I'm not so much against them, but there are, in my view, just higher priorities.

I chose pie.

Pecan for me please!!

I apologize for my initial "can't we all get along posts"

I am now enlightened.

(BTW--I hope my "What am I thread" wasn't the cause of all this)

It is derogatory posts/threads/polls like this that cause the complaints, and threaten this forum.

it is the utter lack of a sense of humor among people who take themselves too seriously that lead to closings. As ridiculous as that thread got -- yes, i contributed to the madness, i'm a card-carrying madman -- this was the only logical next step.

sour grapes....

Some of us learned in Kindergarten that it's not funny when you're the brunt of the humor.

Hiding behind a claim of "madness" is no excuse for the lack of respect expressed there, and in this thread.
