Adaptive Cycling

Just doing some random google searching on cycling advocacy and came across Chip's "AC Defined" thread which is #2 on a google search of "cycling paradigm".

So, who is going to write the Wikipedia entry, and then who gets the rights to the book deal ?
(actually I think Robert Hurst explains AC pretty well without using the term in his book)

But did you search for "adaptive cycling?"

I think you'll find that the term has been in use for rather a long time, with an entirely different meaning. Pretty mainstream and generally-accepted.

Time for a new naming conference.

I agree. Robert outlines the concept quite well in his book, I figure AC and the 'art of cycling' are one in the same and Robert's book should be the reference.

please don't write a book about it
maybe an online colaborative journal, for free of course, but please... no book
when I see a book about something like this, such as the VC book(s), I discredit it right off the bat

Herer is my own personal small minded history of VC:
Step 1.) Create buzz word
Step 2.) Publicise buzz word
Step 3.) Write book about buzz word
Step 4.) Profit!!

Yup I've already contacted a publicist and the in-movie advertising starts soon. It will be featured in a flic called "When John met Robert" which centers around a Portland cycling shop and the passionate love/hate relationship of two aspiring traffic engineers.

Then we can make T-Shirts that say on the front:
BEKOLOGIST FOR PREZ!!!!!
and on the back:
I RIDE VC
...on the bike path

Bekologist Mountain. The touching (way too much touching) story of a boy and his bike, finding manhood, together, in a bike lane.

Just don't confuse adaptive cycling with adapted cycling (which would be the likely term for disabled individuals riding modified bikes/trikes)
