Furthermore, it is a red herring and splitting hairs. The exact wording used in his area is not important; the fact that his paceline plowed willfully through a red light and were stopped for doing so is.

It's evil and unconstitutional to single out black people. Discriminating against one form of vehicular traffic over another is bad policy, not evil. Look, you have to pay a ticket for violating the law. That's it. The cops let you on your way. If you stop for the red light, you'll continue to be able to use that road. Chill. And do some research on the real Civil Rights movement. See if your library has the Eyes on the Prize DVD's.

You really need to get some perspective.

The analogy is exact.
Everyone loves to feel like a victim.

I fully sympathise, but blowing red lights just gives them the ammunition they need. Is that what you wanted? I'm pretty sure there's a better way to resolve this 'war'. Getting the police on your side would surely be a good start.

The judge dismissed all the tickets given by the cops to the cyclists. The attorney that was handling many of the tickets told me the judge immediately dismissed the cases at the pre-trial hearing, which is unheard of, and was actually indignant that the cops had even given the cyclists tickets.

some of the most unintelligent statements I have ever seen on BF were made in this thread. Hopefully the poster(s) responsible can shut up and go read a book.

Here in California, when the light is yellow and you enter the intersection, you get a ticket.
Green means go, yellow means don't start (not "slow down"), and read means stop.
Just like crosswalk signals.
