Cyclist death in Las Vegas

Another sad and pointless death.
The driver "didn't see" the cyclist, who was riding with traffic, then apparently didn't see a tree either.
Sorry the article isn't any better. Cyclist death ranks right below grocery store openings in the media here.

Didn't see the cyclist, my aching @$$!!!!

The only possibility of not seeing the cyclist is for the guy to admit that he had his head up his...you know.

Sounds like it was on a wide laned road, or a road with a shoulder at least (article points to the motorist drifting from their intended path to hit the cyclist). Do you know what this road looks like or have a link to Google maps for it?

You do everything right and take every precaution to stay safe and even though the driver wasn't drunk or racing, this still happens. Scary...

I live in vegas also. Just got back into cycle..and have been very cautious. Drivers in this town are HORRIBLE!!
